Dorothy Sayers is a 20th century educator who was a friend and colleague of C.S. Lewis. She first gave this speech at Oxford University in 1947 to a group of educators. It is helpful in understanding the Trivium arts and even connects them to specific stages of learning. This speech has been an inspiration to many in the recent renewal of classical education in America.
